Introduction

Introduction

Jenny is a family law specialist. She acts for parents, children's guardians and local authorities. She has over 20 years' experience in all aspects of public and private law cases relating to children and families. She is noted for the depth of her knowledge and experience in Care Proceedings, Adoption, Human Rights and Immigration and childrens' rights. She has appeared regularly in the High Court in cases involving issues surrounding medical treatment of children and vulnerable adults. She has successfully applied for Geldof injunctions for well-known television personalities and her significant cases include that of Re M at the Court of Appeal, which dealt with contact denial for an autistic child, and Re B, which dealt with parental consent to a child's surgery.

Jenny's past cases include those which have dealt with serious non-accidental injury, including baby shaking, bone injury and fabricated illness. As well as acting for parents Jenny is instructed by  London boroughs in serious cases involving dual criminal proceedings, new identity and serial paedophilia, local authority failures in system management and cases involving actual and prospective Human Rights Act claims. Jenny also deals with placement and adoption proceedings where future contact is a live issue for local authorities, the Official Solicitor, parents and children's guardians.

Jenny has made a significant contribution to developing the skill set of the 33 Bedford Row Immigration Practice Group and uses her skills and experience to assist and advise, appear in all levels of tribunal and Court to take on the new areas of challenges to the court brought on by this fast moving area of law.

Jenny regularly participates in training members of the Royal College of Paediatrics in how to give effective evidence and to experience mock sessions of giving evidence and being cross examined.

Jenny has served as an invited judge for mock trials on the Bar Vocational Course and she participates regularly in CPD training events.
