Joanna specialises in public and private child law including complex care cases, wardship, special guardianship and adoption and related Judicial Review proceedings.  She has chaired a number of reviews into the deaths of young men in custody.

Joanna has extensive experience of all aspects of family and children law and has appeared in numerous public inquiries including the Victoria Climbie Inquiry (2003), the Kimberley Carlisle Inquiry (1987) and the Jasmine Beckford Inquiry (1985).  In 2011, she appeared in the Supreme Court in a case involving the potential deportation of a foreign national with British-born children.
