Ravinder Saimbhi Secures Full Acquittals in Complex Retrial at Isleworth Crown Court

Ravinder Saimbhi has successfully concluded a retrial at Isleworth Crown Court with acquittals for her client.

Mr S had been accused of serious sexual allegations by a family member in 2017, alongside 2 members of his extended family.

Following a significant delay in charging, a month-long trial in 2025 resulted in his 2 co-defendants being convicted of several matters and receiving lengthy prison terms.

Mr S was found not guilty on 6 of 8 counts at Trial 1, with the jury being unable to reach a conclusion on the other 2.

Careful and robust cross-examination and scrutiny of the material in the case had revealed some manipulation of a covert recording of a telephone call made by the complainant to the defendant, designed, it was submitted on his behalf, to present a narrative against him which was misleading and untrue in equal measure.

The Prosecution decided to take the remaining 2 counts to a retrial, despite robust representations. The case was both complex and sensitive.

The retrial spanned a further 7 days, a year later, and Mr S was subsequently found Not Guilty of all matters remaining on the indictment. After almost 10 years under investigation or facing proceedings, Mr S can finally return to his life, vindicated and retaining his good character.

Ravinder's diligence and dedication to the right outcome in the case undoubtedly contributed to the final Not Guilty verdicts for her client.

Ravinder was instructed by James Farrell at Weightmans.
