Tom joined chambers in 2006 following the successful completion of his pupillage since when he has developed a wide-ranging practice including all areas of commercial and chancery law from company and insolvency to property, contract and professional negligence. Examples of recent and ongoing cases include:
- Junior counsel in a fifteen-day trial in the Chancery Division. Issues included: formation and construction of a contract; commercial opportunities; database rights; joint venture; economic torts; various company law matters; directors duties; breach of confidentiality
- Acting for a well known bank in various bank charges cases
- Representing a company in a dispute involving a contract to transport, supply and install goods
- Professional negligence action relating to the drafting of an employment contract and the conduct of various litigation matters
- Representing and advising a production company in a dispute relating to the construction of a share purchase agreement.
Tom also accepts instructions in asset forfeiture, criminal and family cases. In family cases Tom has undertaken final hearing in both public and private law children proceedings and ancillary relief claims.
