On 3rd February 2024, Dr S Chelvan - Head of Immigration and Public Law at 33 Bedford Row - was interviewed on LBC with Sangita Myska. Dr Chelvan provided legal context on the Clapham assault suspect and previous Christian conversion refugee claim.

Dr Chelvan explains that according to current case law, "anyone who is a Christian convert is at risk throughout Afghanistan".

Therefore, we do not deport anyone "regardless of their criminal profile" to Afghanistan.
