We are pleased to share that Haydée Dijkstal has been re-elected to the Bar Human Rights Committee (BHRC) Executive Committee for the 2026 - 2027 term.

The BHRC serves as the independent human rights arm of the Bar of England and Wales. Operating autonomously from the Bar Council, its mission is to protect the rights of advocates, judges, and human rights defenders globally. The Committee is dedicated to defending the rule of law and upholding internationally recognised legal standards regarding human rights and the right to a fair trial.

The Executive Committee is elected biennially, contributing their substantial expertise pro bono to produce "BHRC publications and statements, lead fact-finding missions, collaborate with local partners, and represent the Committee to the media, external organisations and the public."
