33 Bedford Row is delighted to announce that Lucy Masoud has been shortlisted for the 'Junior Pro Bono Barrister of the Year' at the 2026 Bar Pro Bono Awards.

The Bar Pro Bono Awards recognise individuals who have gone above and beyond to provide legal assistance to those in need, ensuring that access to justice is a reality rather than a privilege. With over 70 nominations received from across England and Wales this year, Lucy’s shortlisting is an outstanding achievement and a testament to her dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to pro bono work.

Called to the Bar in 2017, Lucy has built a robust and busy practice across all areas of Children Law, including both public and private law matters, as well as cases concerning domestic abuse. Having joined the Bar with a clear mission to support the vulnerable, Lucy is also the founder of The Faisal Luke Pro Bono Project, a testament to her initiative in bridging the gap in legal services.

Her dedication to campaigning against violence has earned her sustained national recognition. In 2022, she was shortlisted for the Emma Humphreys Memorial Prize, an award given to those who have raised significant awareness of violence against women and children. More recently, in July 2025, her excellence in the field was further recognised when she was shortlisted for Legal Aid Barrister of the Year at the prestigious Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year (LALY) awards.

The winners of the Bar Pro Bono Awards will be announced on Tuesday, 19th May 2026, during a ceremony at Inner Temple.
