Nigel Edwards QC leading Joanna Mallon instructed by Brown Turner Ross Liverpool had all allegations of child sexual abuse dismissed by the court following a 3 week hearing, predominantly heard by teams video link to Liverpool Combined court centre.

Ravinder Saimbhi attended the Court of Appeal in person this week to appeal against a sentence of 7 years imprisonment for 2 counts of Possession with Intent to supply class A drugs imposed on her client under ‘third strike’ provisions set out in  s110 PCCSA 2000. She made submissions that the sentencing judge had erred in by failing to take into account s144(1) and (2) of the CJA 2003 and the Definitive Guideline for Reduction in sentence for a Guilty plea and that her client should have been afforded full credit of 20%.
The COA commended Ravinder on her clear written argument and succinct submissions before quashing the sentence of 7 years and imposing one in its place for 5 years and 8 months, which allowed for the full 20% reduction available.
Her client was delighted with the outcome.
Instructed by IBB solicitors.

Emma Scott secured a suspended sentence for her client who pleaded Guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving.  The case involved a near head on collision by Emma’s client’s car which was in the in the wrong lane against oncoming traffic on a bend and collided with a motorcyclist who suffered serious injuries.  Emma’s client was of good character and had an unblemished driving record prior to the incident.

Mohammed Saqib triumphs with yet another exceptional hardship argument. This time appearing at the City of London magistrates court, Mohammed's client was facing a 6-month disqualification and the real possibility of losing his employment in the fruit and vegetable market industry. With careful and selective submissions the client walked away with his driving licence in tact.
