People

33 Bedford Row was founded in 1980 by David Barnard. Originally was located in Gray's Inn, moving to its current Georgian townhouse location in 1994, in order to accommodate its growing membership. 

Originally a civil and chancery set specialising in property law, Chambers merged with Old Bailey Chambers in 2014 to create a dynamic common law set with established expertise in both civil and criminal law. In 2015, Chambers merged again with Renaissance Chambers, bring in a team of 20 eminent family law practitioners then led by Joanna Dodson QC.

33 Bedford Row has grown to around 90 members, specialising in civil, commercial, criminal, family, immigration and regulatory law. Since 2018, our Heads of Chambers have been David Nathan QC and Neil Mercer.
