Keele University School of Law is pleased to run its first series of webinars for students and lawyers on various topics in international arbitration. The first webinar will deal with the topic of ‘Virtual Hearing’ and look at the concept of virtual hearings, the various international protocols and the benefits of virtual hearing in a post Covid world. This panel discussion looks at the hot topic in arbitration of remote hearings. The speakers explore the practical issues that can arise for parties to disputes, their representatives and arbitrators when hearings are held virtually.

Honourable Barry Leon - Barry is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and an International Mediation Institute (IMI) Certified Mediator. 

He is experienced in arbitrating and mediating corporate and commercial, contract, shareholder and business breakup, intellectual property and technology, natural resources, and construction disputes.

Dr Tariq Mahmood  - Dr Mahmood has a broad commercial litigation and arbitration practice covering a wide range of contractual, property and public law disputes.  His work includes a particular emphasis on company, insolvency and property matters, as well as complex commercial disputes generally
