We are delighted to announce that Christina Warner has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Family Law Champion Award at the LexisNexis Family Law Awards 2025.

The award recognises individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the family law field.

Christina has been shortlisted for her work on Ruby’s Law, a campaign dedicated to protecting survivors of domestic abuse and their pets. Launched in January 2025, Ruby’s Law seeks to reform the Family Law Act 1996 and the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 to include pets in protection orders, recognise threats to pets as coercive or economic abuse, and clarify pet custody following family breakdown.

The campaign began from Christina’s courtroom experience, where she saw survivors delaying escape to protect their pets. In under a year, Ruby’s Law has circulated a free legal reform proposal to courts, charities, and Parliament, and gained endorsements from the Domestic Abuse Alliance, RSPCA, Dogs Trust, Cats Protection, and Blue Cross. It has also received cross-party support in Parliament and helped elevate the issue nationally.

This recognition celebrates Christina’s leadership, advocacy, and impact, highlighting her work to protect both people and the pets they love.
