Neil Mercer, joint head of chambers at 33 Bedford Row, represented trainee lawyer Nasrullah Mursalin in his appeal against his contempt conviction and six-month suspended jail sentence, imposed by Judge Kambiz Moradifar in Re M (Committal). The Court of Appeal heard the appeal against Mr Mursalin's conviction for mistakenly disclosing paperwork from a family court case into an immigration case, and overturned both the conviction and sentence.

The Court of Appeal decision featured in The Times under the heading 'Trainee lawyer Nasrullah Mursalin unfairly convicted of contempt over paperwork error'. The Times article can be read here.
