Tinessa Kaur was instructed by Amar Aujla of Stonewood Lawyers to represent two defendant parents charged with assaulting their daughter.

This was a highly sensitive and complex matter, rooted in the parents’ desperate attempt to protect their child from grooming after all institutional avenues had failed and they were left without support.

Following the Complainant’s withdrawal of support for the Prosecution, and detailed representations advanced by the Defence, the Crown offered no evidence against the Defendant Mother and partially discontinued proceedings against the Defendant Father.

Notably, the Crown’s witnesses included the alleged groomer.

The Defendant Mother preserved her good character and left court with her unblemished record intact.

The Defendant Father received a financial penalty for the remaining charge, following persuasive and meticulous mitigation by Tinessa Kaur.
