Introduction Alex Lawson is a barrister with an interest in all forms of civil and family law. He is particularly interested in developing a mixed commercial and civil practice, and is very keen on all aspects of environmental and planning law. In whatever area of practice, Alex can be relied upon to provide persuasive, robust and pragmatic advocacy, having developed a reputation for strong advocacy skills combined with a personable and common sense approach to client care. Prior to coming to the Bar, Alex had a varied career which included work in Africa, teaching law, representing clients of the Citizens Advice Bureau in (Scottish) courts, and pro-bono experience on Death Row in the USA. Outside of practice, Alex also teaches a number of courses at the University of Aberdeen and enjoys anything to do with dogs, the countryside or history.
