33 Bedford Row’s Lara Hicks spoke at the White Paper Conference on ‘Shipping Law & Practice: Shaping new developments into solution-focused advice for your clients’ at the Caledonian Club in London on 11 June 2026.

The Conference was attended by some 70 delegates.

Lara’s talk was on crewing and unseaworthiness following The “Happy Aras” case (Unity Ship Group S.A. and Euroins Insurance JSC [2026] EWHC 7 (Admlty)).

Lara was briefed by the Defendant insurers, Euroins, in the subject case and successfully defended a general average claim for a contribution of US$1,271,095.89 under an Average Guarantee.

The talk was well received by the those attending and provided practical, useful, solutions to the questions at hand.
