33 Bedford Row is delighted to announce that Christina Warner has received a prestigious Special Mention at the Bar Pro Bono Awards 2026.
The Bar Pro Bono Awards celebrate the outstanding, unpaid legal work undertaken by barristers to support vulnerable individuals and advance vital legal causes. Christina’s recognition highlights her dedicated advocacy, particularly her groundbreaking work spearheading the campaign for Ruby’s Law (the Domestic Abuse (Pets) Bill).
The campaign focuses on protecting victim-survivors and their companion animals, addressing how pets are frequently weaponised by abusers within patterns of coercion and control.
Notably, this marks one of the first times an award in this category has focused on animal protection. What began as a UK initiative has since grown internationally, sparking vital conversations around global legal reform.
Reflecting on the achievement, Christina said:
"Ruby’s Law has never just been about legal reform; it has always been about protecting vulnerable people and the animals they love. Receiving recognition for that work, particularly in an international pro bono category, is something I’m hugely grateful for."
