33 Bedford Row's Lara Hicks has been invited to speak at the White Paper ‘Shipping Law & Practice 2026’ conference. The White Paper Shipping Law conference brings together Judges, KCs, Senior Juniors and Solicitors to answer 'thorny' legal questions. This year’s theme, 'Shaping New Developments into Solution-Focused Advice for Your Clients', explores the practical implications of recent landmark decisions.

Lara will be joining an esteemed panel of speakers, including several King’s Counsel, to provide solution-focused advice on some of the most complex issues currently facing the maritime industry.

Lara’s session will focus on the evolving legal landscape surrounding crewing and unseaworthiness. The discussion follows the significant judgment in Unity Ship Group S.A. and Euroins Insurance JSC [2026] EWHC 7 (Admlty), also known as ‘The Happy Aras’ case. In this matter, Lara successfully represented the insurers in defeating a general average claim.

The event will take place on Thursday, 11 June 2026, at The Caledonian Club in London.
