Instruct John

Introduction

Introduction

John has developed a busy multidisciplinary practice and accepts instructions in civil and family law.

Civil Law

John represents individuals and organisations in general civil claims. He is regularly instructed on behalf of businesses and insurers in contractual disputes.  He has a strong track record in housing and landlord and tenant cases, including cases of unlawful eviction. Moreover, John is currently instructed in several complex multitrack and fast track personal injury claims.

John receives frequent instructions from the Government Legal Department in high-profile and high-value civil disputes and inquests, such as the inquest into the death of an Officer Cadet at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He is also instructed by a leading City firm in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry on behalf of a Core Participant.

Currently, John is being led in a significant High Court case, acting on behalf of a fashion industry leader in a claim worth in excess of £150 million.

Family Law

John represents clients in a wide range of private Family Law and Children Act proceedings, and financial remedies proceedings. His clients appreciate his empathetic approach, assisting them through what is inevitably a very difficult process.

Notably, John was instructed to represent the wife of a recently bankrupt international oil tycoon in financial remedies proceedings involving £100 million in assets.
